Generally speaking, fishing in Islamorada, Florida Keys is seasonal. That means that fishing is great through all seasons with different species showing up at different times of the year. Our crew is thoroughly familiar with these seasons and will help you choose with Florida Keys species you would like to target.

Starting in april, Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) fishing is the staple of our catch. Other summer species may include Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish, Blue and White Marlin plus the occasional Permit. As the summer goes to fall, the fishing turns closer inshore. September brings the fishing fleet just offshore of the reefline (3-7 miles) where Snapper, Grouper and King Mackerel are targeted. As the winter cold fronts push through the Florida Keys, the Sailfishing goes from good to great usually beginning in December and running through February and March.  March through April will be your best be if your would like to target the larger Blackfin Tuna in the 20 to 30 pound range and big amberjacks which can tip the scales at over 100 pounds.

I am a South Florida native and have been fishing locally for my whole life. A professional fisherman since 1990, I have had the privilege to mate for, and work alongside some of the best fishermen in Islamorada

I began running the Tag 'Em in the summer of 1998 and won my first major tournament in 2001. The tournament was the Islamorada Fishing Club's $25,000 Dolphin Tournament.

My goal is to provide a professional yet friendly experience for all of my customers whether you are a seasoned offshore fisherman looking for a trophy, or a family looking to bend some rods and take home dinner.
